This is when they set fire to the actual Man himself. Famously difficult to photograph. One simply can’t convey the effect that ... the tens of thousands of people in fantastic (or no) dress, the amazing art vehicles (including an almost full size Spanish galleon), the gigantic fire breathing dragons ... all parading round the Black Rock desert in the middle of the night .... HAS on one’s mind. |

This device was very cool. Consisting of several big fans arranged in a circle around a central spout: it threw flames dozens of feet into the air, and the fans - all working together - whipped the flames into fantastic spiral formations. |
